New Knits for Rachel

I bought this shawl from Etsy with Rachel in mind, but its taken me a while to get her dressed in it and out for some new photos.  Gosh I love this doll! Rachel and Ian are my favorite characters in the series next to Jamie and Claire, and when I saw Diana's sculpt I thought that she would mesh well with Venitu, who plays the part of Young Ian in my Outlander world. I couldn't be more pleased with Diana as Rachel.
My original intention was to take Ian out with her for the photos, but handling 2 full sized dolls outside, trying to balance them to stand on uneven ground ( I don't like using stands for photos) isn't fun, so I decided to save that outing for another day and concentrate on Rachel this time.  Part of the reason I decided to shell Jamie and Claire in the mini size as well is the greater ease in transporting them out and about for photos, and posing them together while out and about. I have debating using Mari as Rachel in the mini size, since she and the Diana sculpt are very similar to my eyes...……..but then there is the problem of finding my perfect Young Ian in mini size. None of the currend Iple or Raccoon sculpts fit the bill for me yet.
I really want to get some shots of Rachel with Claire as well. Another project for another day.

  1. Rachel/Diana is a very pretty sculpt. I'd love to see her with Young Ian. I find that long skirts can easily hide doll stands if you clasp the doll around the legs instead of at the waist. With one of the two dolls firmly anchored, you can then pose the second doll without a stand so long as he's in physical contact with her--leaning, arm around her waist or shoulders, hands clasped, etc. Don't despair of finding the perfect Young Ian in mini size. The perfect sculpt comes along when you least expect it--and can least afford it, unfortunately.

  2. There are some pics of them together on my Flickr album linked in the Links section, they are in the Outlander album near the end. I love the 2 of them together. Maybe this weekend I'll get ambitious and get some new pics of them outside together. I'm not in a big hurry to shell any other characters in the Outlander world at present. I have a couple dolls on order for the Glade world and then I need to try and enjoy what I have more, loL!
