After Jamie and Claire, Young Ian was the next character I shelled in BJD form in my mini Outlander universe. As soon as I saw the Venitu sculpt I just knew he encompassed everything I saw in my head in regards to Young Ian.
The long and lanky sculpt, the sternness and seriousness of his face, he was just Young Ian to me. After he got back from his face up with Lyn Raftis, even more so. I love how she did his facial tattoos.
While I love the show, and enjoy the actor that plays young Ian, he just doesn't look like the young Ian in my head.
I haven't been able to come up with a mohawk wig for my Ian, so instead we went with braids in long hair. One of these days maybe I'll be lucky enough to stumble upon someone who can do a mohawk wig for me in his size. I have one for my Iple dolls, but Venitu's head is smaller. Until that time, or if that time never comes, I'll enjoy the version I have of the character. I really do need to get him out more.
